Saturation diving
It has still not been ruled out that it will be possible to put closed circuit rebreathers into untethered saturation. One of the fundamental reasons the Ouroboros rebreather was designed was just for that. The original development team had their sites set on taking the Ouroboros into saturation on the Britannic during Carl Spencer's 2003 expedition. The first operational unit was developed with a quick release system for safety and a design to winch a diver into a bell on the seabed for recovery. Saturation on CCR has not been ruled out and the Ouroboros is designed with this in mind. This page is just an excuse to show some images taken during the development teams familiarisation training on a sat spread in a build up to the Britannic 2003 expedition.
